Congratulations to Jessi Young of the girls 16U Apex Ice team. After a successful regional tryout last weekend among her peers, Jessi was selected to compete at the 2009 Baden Cup in Kelowna. The Baden Cup is a progressive large scale training experience for future Team BC athletes. The top athletes from across BC will come together and train amongst their peers with some of the best coaches in the province. Athletes will focus on enhancing all the basic skills and will be introduced to advanced skills and tactics.

In 2009, the top athletes from the Baden Cup will be selected to the Team BC program and prepare for competition at the Western Elites. Selected athletes will remain in Kelowna and train together for 2 weeks prior to departure for the Western Elites competition in Saskatchewan or supplemental beach training. Team BC will select 36 female athletes from the Baden Cup. Twenty-four athletes will be selected to travel and compete at the Western Elites taking place in Saskatchewan July 23 – 26.

Good luck Jessi.
