U15 Velocity Improving by Leaps and Bounds
Fresh off a strong performance at the Okanagan Super Volley last weekend, the girls qualified for the Championship Playoff after day 1 of the highly competitive Fraser Valley Super Volley tournament this weekend. On day 2, the girls dropped their opener against a tough Focus team but stormed right back with a victory over a team whose number they’ve had all season, the Prince George Kodiaks. The girls showed a lot of heart in their final game coming just shy of a victory against a Ducks team that they will undoubtedly see more of as the team approaches the Provincial Championships. Unanimously voted team captain by her teammates, Kelly Furey displayed tremendous heart while battling sickness at both tournaments, Becca Arce played exceptional defense while sparking the offense, Adrienne Moopenn set with precision, Nicole Smith competed aggressively, and Arielle Rempel’s net presence loomed large all weekend long. Ninja looks forward to more great things as this young group continues to gel together over the coming weeks!
